It's supposed to be this week, but no word yet. I've been hesitant to call them, but I will this week, just to let them know I'm still counting on them finishing!

You must be psychic Bill! Just got off the phone with Larsen and King, and they said they've finished all the machine and pre assembly work! He said the block was very close to spec when they balanced and blueprinted it, and it took very little to correct the deck height, bore centers, etc. to get within their .0002" tolerance requirement. It's headed to the assembly bench tomorrow, and should be ready to pick up in a couple days!
Just ordered a set of Crower cam saver lifters, and the adapter plates for the cross ram intake so I can assemble the heads and intake once it's home again!

Thanks! I'm pretty stoked about this engine, as I've kinda blown the budget on it. I just wanted to once do an engine exactly like I dreamed, with everything balanced and blueprinted, and done perfect. I'm not going for huge HP, but I want an engine that idles and winds super smooth, and is reliable.
Larsen and King has equipment that most machine shops around our area don't have. Their CNC driven mills can do stuff that other boring mills don't do as easily, or as accurately. This block will be closer to factory specs than any production engine that leaves the assembly line, and better balance too!

Sounds like it's all arriving at one time! My delivery notices tell me the intake will be here tomorrow, and the lifters also! Engine matbe Wed. or Thu., so time to get busy! Have to go look through my Roloc supplies and make sure I've got enough discs to do all the sanding on the intake to get it smooth enough for polishing!

New intake came today!

After 5 hrs. of polishing, and still probably several more left to do, the excitement is wearing off! But it is looking much better. I was surprised to find that under the "as cast" finish the intake appeared to be ground smooth in many places, and then sandblasted. None of the grinder marks showed up until I started buffing the finish off and the shinier it got, the more the grinder marks showed up!
I also got the balance tube cut in and in place. Made it from 1" aluminum tubing I had in the scrap bin.
