Thanks! I've always liked them, but many vehicles don't have room to use them. Wanted to put them on my Camaro, but way too tight to even consider them without deleting the heater and getting a smaller brake booster.
I have the high profile Edelbrocks on mine and I don't have too much of a problem. The worst is the regulator bracket that I have on the passenger side. I have to take the bolts out of it that hold it on the carb base but that's it.
Oh wait, forgot that you had that monster of a big block under the hood.

How would you rate the quality of those covers; fit, finish, sealing, thickness? And are they natural or clear coated? I thought about getting fabbed covers to get "that" look, but not for the high prices most are going for. 60 bux is stupid cheap, as long as the covers aren't cheaply made.
I agree I have seen decent ones for around $100. I was also wondering about the thickness. Do they oil can? I'm not worried about the finish as long as there not coated. It is a ***** to get that off to polish them. I wish I had 60 to blow. I had to get a wheel bearing for the womans car this week though.

I saw a lot for slightly more, pllus shipping, but none of them had breather holes and baffles. Only thing I can say negative, is the same for every fabbed valve cover 've looked at; they don't have a lip for the gasket to sit into. I used black RTV and 1/4" bolts to align them and let it sit for a couple hours before installing them, and they sealed great. After driving to and from the cruise today I had none of the oil film on the outside the valve covers that I previously dealt with on the non baffled Corvette valve covers. At $60 shipped these are the deal of the century, I'm really happy with them.
Judges liked them today too, the Austin won "Favorite Hot Rod" today!
I use studs on mine. Mostly because of the aluminum heads. I would hate myself if I were to srip out the bolt hole. I don't think there is enough meat for a heli coil.
Anyhow, the gaskets just slip on the studs and away I go. I don't even use gasket sealer. You'll find that with your AFR's the gasket surface is milled flat. Combine that with your covers with machined surfaces, it shouldn't leak ever.
