Maybe on a GTP but on the camaro 3.8 is going to have a few problems with the bottle neck between the TB and the bend that leads into the SC. Plus if i am not mistaken the NA 3800 has higher compression then the SC3800. If power is your goal then a Turbo or Nitrous 3800 is going to be the way to go. I could be wrong but i think even on the FWD cars the blower maxes out around the 300 range and thats with a good port, fuel, valve train, and running a good amount of boost. I could be totally wrong.

Technically, to make that work, you need L67 heads too, because the injectors are in the head not the manifold. However, I dont think they max out at 300hp, I havent looked at the specifics but at ZZPerformance they show cars running under 10 second quarter miles with the fwd 3.8

UMMM i could be mistaken but most of the bolted FWD SC 3800 are only good to about 300 to the wheels. There was another guy running a set up on the camaro. I think he managed something like 260 to the wheels with open exhaust. I am sure he could have made more with more fuel, timing, and boost but you are going to need supporting mods for that and at some point your going to hit a IAT issue since that supercharger was never made to run that much boost. Like i said i could be way off but i dont see her making any wear close to 300 with out injectors, some type of cooling device, sc porting, head work, exhaust, maybe lower the compression a little or even go with better pistons, and maybe a sc cam. And one heck of a good tune.

Like i said you may be able to get more out of it but your taking about big work to the engine and fuel system. But i still see you having a issue with the SC and heat soaking and just hitting a limit on air.

But like i said ten times in this post i could be wrong. Im sure one of the FWD guys could help out a little more then i could.

musicman, you should turbo it.

new best with still only 10 lbs of boost.

r/t 0.139
60'/ 1.754
660'/ 7.913@85.784
1000'/ 10.314
1320'/ 12.438@106.241
taken from a local forum. he was running a single turbo 3.8 (10 psi as stated). now he's deep into the 10's.

Not with a T5 and 10 bolt he ain't. I've actually got the manifolds to start building a turbo kit for it. Turbo stuff is so foreign to me though, no clue even where to start.

The auto will let you use the 10 bolt for a while, and the 4l60e is a good drag race trans. But I ain't gonna drive a girly automatic, and my car is actually setup more for auto-x now. Been trying to get it off the strip ever since the mustang came home.

There's a tone of guys on FTV6 running turbo's on their f-bods, I recognize a lot of names off that list. I could do a turbo setup, it's not out of the question. It's more about finding the cheapest way to build it right. There's fast, reliable, and cheap. Usually you can have 2 of the 3, I'm hoping for reliable and cheap whatever I end up doing.

um, he's running a built 4L60E and a 3600rpm stall. personally i'm amazed he hasn't completely blown the rear end to hell, considering the car dynoed at 451rwhp. the most expensive part about a turbo build is the tuning. that can make or break a car. i know that Dave's 3.1 was in the 12's on just over $4500 including the car. even a low boost setup, like 5psi will get you more than enough power for auto-x.

oh and check this out:

Justin Longcrow RUS 004 82.056 < turbo 3.8 4th gen
Mitch Merritt G 102 82.901 < me

that's from one of the auto-x races two years ago. under a second difference and he had me by over 250whp. his car is kinda the "fill every racing type" car, though it seems to be more setup for drag.

I've seen that zzp car... running in the 9's and i'm pretty sure the car is stripped bare, with a roll cage, and its runnin on alcohol basically (race fuel)... i think thats a little more than musicman wanted... if you still planning on driving that car to work lol
