Default New from Washington State

Signed up few years back and never got around to introducing myself. So here I go, name is Greg from Washington State, Anyone else from the Great NW? Back in late 70's early 80's had a few camaros. first one was a 1970, 307 with 3 speed on floor and 10 bolt rear end. This was right out high school making about $2.00 an hour. Saving money I managed to build a 350, picked up a muncie 4 speed and changed out 10 for a 12 bolt 4.10 posi. Car was a 1 owner, neighbor of my dads. At the time it seemed pretty fast, racing it at Bremerton drag strip it ran mid to low 13's with street tires and was a heck of a nice street car. Well on my 21st birthday loaned it to my brother to take his girlfriend home and he wrapped it around a tree. Hell of a birthday! Anyway 21 years old and suddenly no car but my dad to the rescue again. His brother in law had a 10,000 mile 1979 Z28 Camaro in new condition who wanted to unload it. This was in 1981 and what punk 21 year old was gonna pass up a chick magnet of a car like this. (Not Me) Kept that car until about 1996, repainting it, changing out smogger motor for a really nice built 350 during this time. Car was a little faster in quarter than old 1970 was. As time went on, bought house, got married and had kids, Car was not family friendly so I sold car. Lots of memories. Present, 30 years later with kids out, house paid for figured time to start looking for another car. Always wanting a 1969 Camaro started looking 3 yrs ago. lots of overpriced junk out there but over time found a 1969 SS 350 Camaro, Protecto Plate and some other documenets came with car. Rearend and Transmission match documents, has all the SS parts, duel fuel lines, welded exhaust mount on frame rail, disc brakes, few other misc things come up as SS, The stinker was the motor had a restamped number on block pad. Casting numbers, production dates, it all fell inline with rest of dates but it was pretty obvious fake restamp, After haggling over price and showing him photo of forged stamping on pad we came to aprice agreement.I now own it and have been going over car finding things to repair, Well thats my short story. Hope everyone had a merry Christmas and don't over do it on New Years.
