Hey all. Name is Josh and I’m new to the forum. I’m from the central Texas area (Temple/Belton area) and have been turning wrenches for a living for about 20 years now on anything from cars, tractors and mostly military equipment. I bought my first 4th gen Camaro a little over a year ago...an 02 V6 base model and loved it...except for one thing. It wasn’t a V8! A few months back now I found a killer deal on a non running 98 Z28...I talked the guy down from $6000 to $2300 because no one would buy it. Car had no oil pressure. I went ahead and replaced the oil pump and a crank position sensor and now it’s alive and back on the road! Just sold the V6 last week and now I’m still just working some bugs out of the Z. It has C6 wheels, a comp cam (not sure of specs, milder cam) LT4 intake, Stainless longtube headers that go into a 3” exhaust out a magnaflow in the rear...also has an electric cut out before the rear axle and has been dyno tuned. T56 Trans, t-top, all the bells and whistles for a 98 model. Car was vinyl wrapped by the previous owner and up close you can see some imperfections but it’s good enough for me! Much better than the very ugly paint on the V6! Anyhow, just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I tried to get in on a few other forums but they seem quite inactive. I’m hoping this one isn’t! Thanks!

Josh

Welcome aboard Josh from a fellow 4th gen guy, mine is an '01 SS.
If your car is a '98 it should be an LS1 and the GM intake upgrade would be the LS6.
Congrats on the car,put up some pics when you can.
