I:m about to buy a 1986 Iroc Z w/ 305 auto, engine shot but car looks good, I have a 396 I would like to swap and rid Myself of the computer, how do We do this?. Thanx Larrry

 

I think this would belong in a different area, but if you pop a carbureted motor in it you wont need the computer. I'm sure they sell a kit to fit a big block in it somewhere, then it's jsut an issue of hooking of the throttle etc.

 

I would try searching here and checking over at thirdgen.org it's more generation specific and has a lot of info. I sure you will find a build thread somewhere for someone who has done it.
