Default Buying

Any buying advice for getting a Camaro /Firebird. I'm assuming they're the same xD. Not basic stuff like checking fluids for smell, or discoloration and stuff.

Camaro specific stuff, like, does 2nd gear usually go out first, or are there specific areas where rust might be a problem. Or if there's a problem with specific years.

I'm looking to get one 1996-2001
3.8 v6
Manual transmission
Hopefully between $2000-3000

The only thing I will add due to the manual trans is you want to test drive the car cold. My 96 had a 1/4 million miles on it and only issue was getting into first gear cold and a small sync issue going into 2nd cold. Once you had 5 minutes of drive time in it you could not tell and it did that for the last 70k miles.
