95 chevy camaro 3.4l v6 ignition issues
I have a 95 chevy camaro 3.4l v6. I really love this car but it beginning to be a headache. Ignition switch went out and when it was replaced I don't think it was done right. My car does not have the original steering wheel it was replaced with one of the small cool ones and has a tilt column. Is there a different Ignition switch for the tilt? I had the service manual downloaded but somehow it got deleted from my phone and I can't find it. Even since the switch was changed I have had issues with it starting and now the key won't even turn. Please help.

There are two switches, one for Automatic and one for Manual. I believe they have different connectors.
Has the switch ever worked right? how long did it last?
Has the tilt part of the column ever been worked on? It is VERY easy to make a mistake on assembling the Column and cause issues with the rod that drive the ignition switch.
There is a little play in the switch to allow for adjustment. If the switch has come loose and push all the way back you can get a no start condition you described. It is also easy to not get the rod in the pocket right while installing the switch and later the rod will slip into its pocket making the rod too loose to push all the way.
Lastly. I have install a lot of defective parts from GM. Most aftermarket parts are not as good as the original so defects are common. I have seen new switch fall a part on the inside because they where miss manufactures this would be the most common cause of the key not being able to turn all the way to the start position. Assuming it work fine before.
Even for a mid level tech this is a simple repair unless the column needs to come a part. The easy way to know if it does is to remove the switch and see how free the key moves. It should move freely without resistance all the way to the start position.
Good luck.

I thought all 4th gens had tilt wheel. here's link to service manuals. https://www.mediafire.com/?40mfgeoe4ctti did they replace the key switch or the ignition switch? ignition switch is under the dash above driver feet. is it acting like you are using the wrong key or does it turn part way and stop?
