You can also try Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
I can't wait a year. I need to get this thing running. Also, I can't build the engine from the block up. I don't have the time or resources.

I would never recommend Rebuilding an engine if budget and time are an issue. The problem with buying an used engine sight unseen is you have no idea how it was cared for or what its life was like. For a mechanic seeing the car it was in, hearing the motor run check the oil with an strong magnifying glass will tell him the condition of the motor.

For a car living in more rural area an adult driven well maintained engine can last a real long time after 70K. On the other hand a car from an urban setting could have been driven several hours everyday of stop start driving and only rack up 70K worth of miles. I can remember dealer bringing cars out of NYC with 50K on them and they where completely used up. You might get a good used engine and you might get a piece of crap that leaks oil and have a bad lifter tap and lower compression. No matter what condition the motor was in when pulled if it was wrecked in 2014 and the engine has not been started since then it will hurt the seals.

For the different that you are looking at for a used engine and a re-manufactured engine is not that huge I can not imagine the risk of putting a used motor my car without seeing/hearing it run first.

In 2009 I installed a used 3800 in my daily driver. (I bought the car with a blown motor) I drove that car for 80K over the next 5 years and never had engine issue, In fact the car still sits in my driveway but with 1/4 million miles on body and it runs great. I moved on to a lower miles car because everything except the motor need attention. I say this to show I have nothing against used engine but I think for you it is a huge roll of the dice.

like I said hear an another you want to see it runs couse you don't know what the warranty will be if its just your money back that would be a [pain couse it sounds like you got to pay someone to install it just one idea of a long block is remaned lt1 92+ 383 365 hp 400tlbs ebay name 1951herb is 383 long block ,if you use all the parts you don't need from the old engine check out jegs they will have long block for around what your paying for this ,or just google lt1 93 or older for 4th gen,ya we went through this before if you can come up with another $1000.00 that 383 stroker would be a great deal the price includes shipping an remanufactured too $2499.00 make offer ,the stock 275hp an 300hp would be like $1500.00 for a long block stock ,what gorn ment was finding a deal on whole car with low miles can take some time or not ,but more then likely your best bet is what he said atleast rebuilt from a well known seller know if it was me I would look into the 383 if you want some extra power ,if not jegs summit ,jegs was just haveing a huge sale gm engines

then remaned is probley the better way to go ,atleast rebuilt by a well know engine builder ,you may need to do a lot of research an phone calls .but again for the 1000,00 more the 383 I mentioned check them out 281 546 6232 1951herb has 100# feedback ,an it talks about building what you want 93 to 97 lt1 ,you could probley get a price on stock engine ,I know that 383 would have been great choise for me at the time ,but I made my choise an have to live with it for now ,he probley makes 346 an ore 355 version too the 346 being less, there may be builder near you like this there all over it just a matter of finding the right one for you
