What's making this noise?
I just purchased an incredibly sweet 1994 Camaro Z28. Equiped with the 5.7 and 6 speed manual. I have not had a car like this in years. The car is in incredible condition and meticulously maintained. The car drives and shift great. I've noticed though when you are in 1st gear and start off from a stop, there is a whirring sound coming from the car. Thinking tranny, clutch, rearend? It only happens when in low gear starting off. Kind of sounds like my old tractor when you are in a low gear and it wants you to shift to 2nd. All through the other gears, it's perfect. Only seems when you start off. Two of my buddies possibly thought throwout bearing? I'm a newbie and appreciate any thoughts. Love the car though.
Thanks, Rick

mine does the same thing, know exactly what you are talking about, mine also makes a knocking noise when next to like a gas pump or something you can hear it knock while in neutral (when car is hot) then if you push in the clutch it is silent......been told it's the throwout bearing and i'm not too worried about it
