Default Water Pump

Hey. I have a 94 Z28 camaro and my water pump is bad I am in the process of replacing it but ran into some problems with getting the water pump out. Can anyone help me and let me know what I need to do to get it out.

Are you having problems gaining access to the pump, or getting it off the block in general? Make sure you get all the mounting bolts off, there are three on each side holding it on. The lower bolt on each side is tucked in there and can be easy to miss.

If you have the bolts out, and the pump is free but you just can't find the room to get it up and out, you can remove the fans. It will give you another 1 1/2" or so to move it around.

You just need to remove your passenger side fan for enough clearance...and like 69maro said...make sure you get all three...very easy to miss the one on the left hand side tucked in the back

Mine was corroded in place. I tried the vise grip trick without luck. I tried soaking in penetrating fluid without luck. I finally heated it up with a propane torch and it came off like buddah. I wasn't worried out damaging the pump as it was a core return.

A little late but if you still have the waterpump off its a good idea to change the opti distributor as the water pump needs to be removed to do this
