Default Trouble starting after winter season

My 1997 6 speed LT1 is barely cranking over when I try to jump it. It is arching at the positive terminal. Battery and alternator connections are tight. Started it a month ago and it was fine but now cannot start it. Headlights are at full power but cuts out when I try to start and when i pull the jumpers off it goes dead instantly. Summers coming

Take a wire brush to the battery terminals as well as the wiring connections on the fender well. Clean them really good. Might also want to check the other ends where the positive connects to starter and the neg connects to ground. Make sure you get them shiney clean. Battery may be so dead that it cannot even be used to jump start.
