Transmission Trouble
Has anyone ever had their transmision mount break on them? How about more than once within 200 miles? Well I have. I recently blew my trany (auto) and had it rebuilt but ever sence I have been breaking trany mounts. I am going on my third one. Im thinking there is somthing eles going on. I know i drive the **** out of it hard but i also did that before the trany blew, withount any broken mounts. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the hell is going on?

Yeah, I have an idea. You're driving (beating) the **** out of it, as you say. By design, the torque arm from the rearend wants to lift the tail of the trans. And it sounds like you like stressing it out a lot.
Replace the mount with a urethane one (it has an interlock), and it won't come apart any more. But keep beating the crap out of the car, and something more important and more costly might break next.

check the motor mounts they are inclosed so are very hard to damage but could be the engine is moving around enough to damage the trans mount. using the poly trany mount can magnify vibrations on a 4th gen so if u notice a increase thats y. 69 is most likely right and it could also be the torque arm bushing is worn out to and is alowing the rear to move enough to do the damage.

I'd look at the motor mounts. Your mounts are a triangle - motor mounts to transmission mount. If one of the other points in the triangle are bad, it's going to put undue stress on the other points. In this case, if both motor mounts are bad (worn out) it's going to put a lot of stress on the trans mount.
