Default transmission leak

My 95 z/28 is leaking tranny fluid at the rear seal were the driveshaft slides in. I just removed the driveshaft and replaced the seal. I even but some RTV along the inside of the tranny were the seal sits to insure that it does seal. So now I am still noticing tranny fluid on the ground when the car sits. Could the leak be coming from the driveshaft's end? A buddy recommended putting a sleeve on the driveshaft, would this work at all? Any suggestions?
Thanks

Can't you see where the fluid is coming from by looking at it? For starters, you don't need to use nor do you want to use RTV on the seal. The seal is a press fit and it isn't going to leak around the housing. The most likely cause would be a wear groove/rust pitting/glazing on the sealing surface of the slip yoke. When you put the new seal in, did you do anything to the slip yoke, or did you just stick it back in as is? Whenever changing a seal, it's a good idea to also dress down the slip yoke with emery or wet-or-dry paper (600 grit is fine). That will remove any rust and clean it up nicely. It will also rough up the surface ever so slightly, which will allow the seal to grab better with less chance of blow-by. Also, you did install the new seal in the right direction, didn't you? Looking at the metal portion, flat side out, channeled side in. The rubber seal is tapered for a reason, internal pressure will push it against the yoke.
