im not too sharp on accual tranny work, but corvette servos would help ya out. I just had mine done, and i had vette servos install with it along with a 2,800 stall converter. The stock tranny that comes LT1 camaro/firebirds isn't very strong. I know alot of people with LT1 camaros/firebirds and the have tranny problems. Your best bet, is to beef it up as much as you can, and vette servos i know help alot! Also with that set up and a 2,400 stall or better, your car can shift better than anyone with a stick. I'm doing also 3.73 gears in the rear also, which will increase my 1/4 mile time. Vette servos, 2,400 stall or better, 3.73 gearsand trust me, you will feel power! It shift nice and hard, and don't forget to use polyurathane tranny mounts. Energy Suspension is the best, otherwise i can't think of anything else.
get on summit order the tci trans kit with all the clutch packs, kevlar bandsanda shift kitit cost like $250 then get a slightly higher stall like 2000 with furnice brazed fins make sure u get a lock up torque converter from b&mabout$340 then with my experiance i broke the planetary now you can get a 5 or 6 pinion planetary for front and rear for about $150 ea for even harder shiftin i added the b&m electric shift improver $31 and takes 15min to install gives u 3 settings for shift firmness as for servos all u need to do is flip them around it shows u this in the trans pac from tci also use poly mounts or you will break the stock one frequently you may ad a larger pan with cooling fins or channelsi also use the b&m trans fluid only because it does not have friction inhibitters so u get good contact with the bands and clutch pacsand remember that heat kills the trans so addinganother way of cooling it wont hurt i have a trans cooler that runs along the frame connectorit took me about10 hours total time from on the hoist to of the hoist to do this still runnin strong no slipage any other questions about the transbe glad to answer there are special tools u will and some mech abilitys and u can do it yourself or just buy a trans from summit with a torque converter and be done with it but DO NOT reuse the old converter it will have debris in it that u can not get out no matter how hard u try and will trash ur new trans so save the trouble and get a new torque converter when u do the trans
