Well my car has a little over 160k miles and I'm honestly not sure when the last time any of the shocks or anything have been changed. So I'm wondering what is the best for what I need. I plan to upgrade the wheels and tires to 17 inch wheels and the width to be 245s in the front and 275s in the back. But it's going to be just a street car and maybe a once a month strip car.

It actually boils down to what you are comfortable paying knowing that you get zero percent back should you ever sell the car.

Would you personally feel any difference if you threw in some Monroes or went for the more expensive units; who knows? If you are like most of us just doing errands, going to work/school, out to dinner etc then probably not.

if you have enough money hanging around that you don't care what you pay for parts then go for it and get the expensive units. If you do plan on spending sgnificant time at the strip then you should consider more than just shocks. Perhaps LCA's as well.
