You need to calibrate it, I think...

Well, my girlfriends car is an 05 Mustang (the reason I need to fix this car up) so im pretty sure her speedo is right. Hopefully I can get on the highway soon and I'll time it between markers just to make sure. I had read that Z28's with this set up came with the 115 mph speedo's and was worried about that being the problem but i guess if that was the problem then it would be farther off than it is right? If it has just got off a little, how could that happen? And how would I get it calibrated right?

that one i dont know. im looking and so far ive found that in the 93 there are different gears at the trany if its mechanical. so the first question is do u have a electric or mechanical speedo. is there a cable or wires at the trany. towards the back of the trany on the drivers side.

I thought they did away with mechanical gears in the 80's. I'll jack it up and look this evening and look just to make sure though. I still got plent of cleaning to do on it this weekend. Just put a new window motor in yesterday. Not too bad. I did notice yesterday that between 40 and 55 the speedo needle moves much faster that it does anywhere else when accelerating. Not sure what that means. Its nothing really major, just irritating.
