At the headunit, take the wires going to the rear passenger speaker and cut that, and the wires going to the driver side speaker and cut that. Resplice them , this time connect the rear passenger to the driver speaker out and vice versa. See if the driver side speaker gives you the same problem. If so, then your headunit is the culprit.
