hey guys ya my car is full of problems but hey i want to drive a Z right well i have to fix them. Ok it has happen only like 3 times that my security light comes on and the car wount start. And two times that it has come on will driving but nothing happens. OK now i read on a post that it could be ignition switch and some wires brake off does anyone have any idea how much the ignition switch cost?? or could the ignition switch be my problem??thanks in advance

almost forgot. I know its bad for a car to overheat. what are the damages done ones the car overheats all the way to mmm what is it 260?? i think thats the red mark right. My Z has overheated two all the way to the red, what are the damages to the motor.

 

If the security light comes on while the car is driven it won't come to a stop, but it won't start again. The usual problem is that the pellet on the key goes bad or the contacts on the key got worn down and making poor contact. Get a new key made up & see if trouble comes back.

Your car has aluminum heads which are prone to warping and blowing gaskets if the engine overheats.

 

so what should i do? what are the sympoms when the heads are blown or when the gaskets are blown? and yes i will get a new key. thanks

 

If you have a blown gasket several things happen, Theycan all happen at one time, one at a time or any combination.
Check engine lite may come up
Car runs poorly
Car overheats even though radiator & stat are good and fans are working
White vapor out of exhaust, especially under load
Oil in radiator
Water in crankcase
External oil or water leaks between heads and engine block.
Hydrolock condition- engine cannot turn over due to water in cylinder.
