Default same block?

I have a 95 Z that I want to build up. I have found a few 396 big bore kits and it sounds like the thing for me. I am nervous the 2 bolt main on my lt1 will not handle the est. 500hp I want to eventually get out of it. I know the vette lt4s have 4 bolts but I am having a hard time finding just the block. My question is, are most 350 blocks the same as the lt1s and can I just find a 4 bolt 350 block and bolt on my parts and drop it in. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The regular small block and the LT1 block are not exactly interchageable. If you are going to build the LT1 to 396 size, why not have the machine shop add billet caps with splayed bolts.

I believe any 350 SBC 1986+ has a block that you can direcly swap out with an LT1 block.

The 350 LT1 Generation II engine is ONLY from 1993-1997 (Corvette is the only ones with 4 bolt)

The Late 350 Generation IL98 enginesare only from 1987-1992 (Roller blocks with 1 pc. rear mains TPI)

The Early 350 Gen I's of old days went from the 1950's - 1980's with a 2 pc. rear main seal. I think in the start of the early 80's most of the 350's went with the one pc. seal but were all interchangeable other than that. Back in the 1970's theyhad an LT1 however it is in NO WAY compatable with the LT1 of 93-97. Keep in mind I was born in 1975 so I am not the expert on the early G1 350.

You will have touse an engine from 1993-1997 to run your 95 reverse flow PFI setup. If you got the coin for the stroker kitPete's idea ofinstalling splayed main caps is about the bestidea, as I seriously doubt you are going to get your paws on a 4 bolt G2 LT1.

Hope that helps.
