rear main seal

Default rear main seal

i need to replace the rear main seal, is it better to get a silicone or rubber seal ?

Use the OEM seal, if there are no rough spots to tear into it, it should be good for at least 100K miles.

i couldnt find an OEM, they jusy had some made by fel-pro, i also needed to get intake manifold gaskets,
will one of these fit correctly on a stock LT1 here

Fel-Pro is OEM (Original Equipment Manufature).

Fel-Pro is also a good choice for the intake manifold gasket set too.

ok thanks, im also looking at new valve cover gaskets, what is the best material for those ?

Stick with Fel Pro. It's a blue silicone v/c gasket.

i do plan on getting Fel Pro i just dont know what valve cover gaskets to get, there is rubber, rubber with cork, and rubber with metal

Just stick with the plain old OEM style. They seal as good as any others.
