i would use a new water pump and gm performance opti. the kind of money and time it takes to change an opti i would not take any chances. also check the water pump drive seal. not easy to change but with a set up like 69 made u can do it fairly easy or pick up a install tool. do a search on here and see what comes up. if u cant find it let me know.

noooooooooooooooooooo, get a good waterpump
partsladi on ebay as well as remart autoparts have treated me well. In fact, I got loaded front calipers from remart for less than $30 each shipped. Completely rebuilt with new pads.
try either of them for the waterpump and perhaps opti

Don't even waste your time with a used water pump, you don't want to do the job more than once.
I put this brand on my Vette, so far so good. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GM...n/?prefilter=1
