oil pump gear

Default oil pump gear

hello all, i've had a problem with the drive gear for the oil pump. it been eating up twice now in the last year. do you guys think i have to replace the cam? its a 95 camaro z28 lt4 hot cam, headman headers, magna flow cat back, k&n air indution system, lt4 knock sensor, 1.6 rockers, behive springs, and a tune.

A real Lt4 cam from GM should be compatible with the stock pump gear. However you should be able to get sturdier after market gears from shops selling speed equipment.

a billet housing wont hurt ether.

check the wear on your cam and lifters to see if there centered.

im using a billet housing from herrin performance. they no longer have a website but you can get ahold of him on facebook.

yes i have to billet housing from herrin, when i get home i about 6 weeks or so im going to take it apart and see if the gear on the cam is ate up or not, i have a few parts to put on anyways so while im in there. thanks guys.
