Ok, so I dropped my car off since it has been idle for so long the gas mixed into the oil a bit, so I went for a oil change and inspection. So they call me up saying, ya we changed the oil, but there are some problems with the inspection. So they repplaced my brand new Silver Alloy window wipers, my rear Break pads, and my engine belt, which wound up being about $400. Basically all i wanted was a good old oil change but they had to do what they do best and change anything they could to make money. The only thing I can see them changing is my rear break pads because there was only 20% left of them. But I put a brand new high grip belt on and they said it was bad so they took it off and put a new one on which costed a good amount. Does anyone else have these problems on their LT1's and LS1's?

 

400 dollars, i think they ripped you off lol, with mobil1, serpintine belt replacement and fuel filter change, i paid $120.
hipo brake pads are only around 40 bucks a pair, so that would have saved the most money to do it yourself.

Better find a different shop. If u can, stick around while the inspection is being done, and let them show u why something has to be replaced.

 

I was actually going to do that z28pete, but i had to be at work during that period of time..Thx though I will keep that into consideration for next time.

 

The other thing I might add is that if you have to take off next time tell them to call for permission to change anything this might help also. I never trust my car out of my sight for these reasons.
