Default Need new radiator hose...

I got home from taking an exam today and as I rounded the corner onto the street where I live I start leaking antifreeze at an enormous rate. Parked in front of my house, and sure enough I can see a hose that is loose. My problem is that it looks like there is a plastic pipe and that there is some sort of valve in the pipe. It looks like two pieces of hose connected to this pipe, and then one of the hose connects to the water pump and the other to a steel line. The separation is at this black piece of pipe. It doesn't look like it broke in two because it's not serrated or uneven. I will try to get pictures. Can someone point me in the right direction as to which hose I need?

Here are the pictures. Maybe they will help clarify. Taken from under the car looking up into the engine bay.

Here's a general picture of the hose two hoses disconnected

My hand is on the hose that connects to the water pump

The other hose that has the plastic pipe with what looks like a valve in it.

When both are connected (But are easily disconnected. Nothing secures them).

its a heater water flow valve. looks like one end has broken off. dont know if the # is any good but 93 gm part #10188036 it says part of 1. makes me think u have to buy the whole hose. thats your heater hose. the one with the heater flow valve on it. if u need the car for work tomorrow u should be able to plug the hoses, clamp good on plugs and fill with coolant and bleed. secure hoses to keep out of belt. no heater till fixed right.

I may do that as a temporary fix. What do you suggest I plug it with? A dowel or something? And you mean bleed air out system right?

Thanks for the input guys.

ya lol. knuckles need bleeding once in a while to. the plastic end could pose a problem but u will have to cut it off one way or another sence thats a pressed on fitting so whatever u got that will fit fairly tight so the clamp will hold. u will need to plug both ends so the fluid wont run back thru the core from the other heater hose and out the umpluged end.

What material should I avoid using to plug up the hoses? I know certain plastics have varying heat tolerances. Would a brass or copper plug be okay?

Okay I got some good news. Got it working great with the heater bypassed! I went to Home Cheapo and got a galvanized steel pipe fitting with caps. I put a good layer of teflon tape on the threads and capped it off, crammed them in the hoses, and tightened down the clamps. I zip tied the the hoses so they wouldn't bounce around near the belts and fan. I ended up getting a foot of radiator hose for $1.50 for the water pump instead of reusing the old one (It was filled with crap).

There was a lot of air in the system. Bleeding it was a lot easier than I expected and the fans actually kick in sooner now! I ended up making it take longer than I should. I was going to take pictures of the ghetto rig setup but it's past midnight and I got studying to do...Thanks a lot for the help guys.
