Depends on what "difficult" means to you. changing a cam is not super difficult, but its not like changing a water pump or a starter. A bit more difficult (maybe much more) than installing headers. if you aren't an experience mechanic and don't have lots of tools and a good workplace you might think about paying to have s hoip do it. Make sure you get the whole kit, with springs, retainers, whatever they recommend all with the cam.

If you aren't mechanically inclined, leave cam installs to the pros.

As far as the LT4 H/C setup, I have one sitting in my closet. I haven't gotten around to getting the install done because the motor hasn't blown up LOL! I can't think of any reason to do a swap when I have a motor that runs perfectly fine. I'm just waiting......

If you're looking for a real high horsepower car, you're going to be disappointed with the LT4 H/C kit. You'll get around 350-370 rwhp with the LT4 H/C kit; not much more. However, the LT4 H/C kit is a great kit for someone that just wants a little bit more power. With an LT4 H/C setup, you could probably run around a 12.70 in the 1/4.

i'm pretty confident i could do the install, but at the same time..if i screw up and float a valve or something harsh like that it's on me...if a reputible shop does it..then it's on them, which to me is extra money well spent....i was more curious about what the came can give....those rwhp that's with proper tunning with stock injectors, stock t.b. ?

Those numbers are pretty much on average for cars with the Hot Cam setup and all supporting mods; headers, cold air intake, exhaust, etc. I would go with a 52mm throttlebody with the Hot Cam kit. If you get a throttlebody that's too large, you will actually hinder performance.

The stock throttlebody size on an LT1 F-body is 48mm.

And you're welcome. That's what we're here for; to help each other out. [sm=grinangel.gif]

A bad AIT sensor will cause hard starting, but more important would be the engine temperature sensor, because if it tells the computer that the engine is hot when instead it is cold, the mixture won't be enriched for a cold start. Hopefully, you did not mess up the wires in he MAF when you sprayed it. Also, make sure the fuel pump goes thrugh the prime cycle when the key is frst turned on.
