intake

Default intake

i want to make a custom intake that will increase hp. the reason i want to make a custom intake is because i dont have much money to spend. any ideas ?

do you mean intake manifold or the intake air box ? usually "custom" ends up costing more

Honestly you're not going to get too much with a custom cold air intake. You can go for one similar to the "chrome intakes" they sell on ebay, but you're really not going to see too much of an improvement in HP from one of those. Although they look smooth they have a pretty small cross sectional area, which is what you look at for flow. If you look at the K&N or Moroso intake they're molded (with smooth curves) to fit down into some tight places to increase the area where the intake has to bend. My advice: Save your pennies for a little longer and get a good setup instead of something you'll want to replace later.
