LS1 Swap

RE: LS1 Swap
Yes you can keep the LT1 transmission both the T56 and 4L60 will bolt up. You will need the hole front clip. Engine, wiring harness, ecu, coils, etc. You might be better off buying a LS1 car or building your LT1 up a bit.

RE: LS1 Swap
you actually dont need to swap the front end, it can be be done using the lt1 front end.But he is correct it will cost just as much to buy an ls1 car.The swap starts at 5k and thats just for parts if you can get a good deal, it will end up costing near 10k if you dont do the work yourself.

RE: LS1 Swap
Um...I'm pretty sure the LS1 has a different input shaft as well as a different bell housing, so your transmissions will bolt up, but you'll need more parts (once again). Listen to these guys...don't go for the swap. I guess the deal with the front end is this: if you want to use the LS1 radiator and "lid" style intake you'll need a new front end, if you're fine with an LT1 radiator and intake you can use the stock hood.
