Default Hypertech vs Venom

I was looking at either purchasing the Hypertech 3 or the Venom 400 chip. I am not looking at doing many upgrades on the car other than the chip.I was wondering if anyone has had some first hand expierence with either and could tell me some of the pros and cons of each chip.

Here are some links to each one.

25%? Horsepoo!

get the hypertech. its the lesser of 2 evils

but if it were my money, i wouldnt bother with that yet. do some bigger mods (headers, maybe a cam), and then get a real tune from pcmforless.com or somethinng like that. ends up being about the same cost i believe, and its 143.7% better.

spec, you're a little off. the pcmforless tune is actually 153.7% better. idiot

but yes, i totally agree with specter on this. don't waste your time with either of those you were looking at. hypertech would be a better choice of the 2 though

Alright guys...153.75 sure, but what's your error on that calculation?

Seriously though, listen to these guys, the "Power Programmers" are a $300 paperweight unless you need to remove a speed governor or adjust for different sized wheels/tires.

I purchased one of Hypertechs power programmers not the chip. In my opinion this is the better buy because it gives you a preset tune and allows you to modify it. You can make adjustments to the electronic speed limiter, rev limiter, shift points, andmake rear gear ratio changes and ect. I bought mine for about $300 through summitand the power gain was pretty noticeable. Its very simple just plug it in and it tunes the car in 15 minutes. Go with Hypertech not venom.
