I have a red '97 camaro z28(V8) convertible with an automatic trans. 350 LT1 5.7L
it has only 2 aftermarket parts, a Mezier water pump, and a Magnaflow exhaust system
i am currently driving a car with a manual transmission and i know i will never be able to drive an automatic again (how boring)

so.. i was wondering what i would have to do to convert my automatic trans to a manual trans.

 

Find a 6 speed, install it, get a new center console for the manual shifter. Install a clutch, clutch petal, and run cables for it. Reprogram the PCM for the manual...ummm, there may be something else, but that's all I can think of right now. All in all I'd say it's too much work for what you get. Instead, you should put a shift kit and a high stall in the auto, along with some 3.73 or 4.11 gears in the rear end and kill anyone with a manual in the 1/4!
