How hard and expensive would it be to convert my 3.8 L from auto to manual?

Bare minimum I can think of that you would need:
The T5 trans (duh)
Manual tranny mounts
Manual Flywheel
Clutch
Clutch pedal
Clutch banjo
Brake pedal from a manual car
ECM from a manual car (or a reflash of yours, Auto ECM's tend to freak when they don't have an auto trans anymore)
Clutch hydralics
- Master Cylinder
- Reservoir
- Slave Cylinder (Don't know if the T5 is an internal slave or not)

To make it nice:
Center console for the appropriate year car for the shifter in the car

Then pray that your car has all the right mounting points (probably, but I don't know)
There may be some wiring differences also.

Then it comes to the actual work, which I imagine is rather involved.

Price your car right, find a buyer (maybe pull your go-fast goodies off to transfer to the other car) and then find a manual car. Or find a sucker to trade with. It will be easier, and most likely just better.
