i got my motor all back togeather and it runs good and now it likes to idle at 2000rpms but when u tap the gas it idles back down. even driving it duz it. i checked my throttle cable its all good and it has a bran new bbk trottle body so it shouldnt b that any ideas

 

Sounds like the throttle is sticking, check all the cables attached to the throttle body, including the cruise control, and TV cable. The throttle body itself could also be sticking even though it is new, quality control on speed parts is not all that great. You may also want to check the IAC valve and the TPS, although they shouldn't be causing your problem.

 

if you pull the throttle arm on the tb to the idle position will it idle down. check to make sure the levers are not bent and jamming, check to see if the cruse control cable is not holding things up as well.
