Help... Electrical or Fuel Problem?

i will tell u i had a very similar problem. i would get a few miles down the road and the car would die. i would go get someone to tow it home and it would start right up and run fine, it was the ignition modual. not saying thats what your problem is but it does sound the same. only diff is my ses light didnt come on.

Ok we jumped the wires and it showed no codes.. but the SES is still on.. ??
We put a new knock sensor, Swapped the ignition control module and coil.. when we put the new control module on it shows code 36 which says...
Faulty high resolution pulses or multiple low resolution pulses detected in ignition system...

Any ideas??? Mayb bad distributor?? I am clueless

sounds like the ignition modual was messing up the computer and the opti/distributor is going or gone. check the connections to the opti. its under the damn water pump. pita to change. more time consuming than hard.

Thnx... And you ain't lyin bout the PITA.... I've already had to replace the opti on mine....

The High & Low res pulses are produced by the optispark. If the wiring between the opti and ECM is OK, then the opti is probably bad.
