Angry HELP !! Crankshaft Problem on Rebuild Lt1 1994 engine ?

About 4 wks ago i sent my 350 lt1 out for rebuild from Grooms in Tenn.
the Z28 with a 4L60E tranny came with a 4 bolt main. Anyway the engine came back today and i picked it up, got home and was about to unload it when i noticed it had a key on the crank. Well it didn't have a key when i sent it out for rebuild, so i'm guessig it's a stock 350 crank instead of a Lt1 crank. The engine was stock rebuild. They said the crank was tagged and would not be mixed with other cranks, but apparently not. Needless to say i am Not very Happy. Will this crank even work ( short ) and what should i do or what would You Do ?? Any Suggestions ??

I NEED ANOTHER BEER CHIT CHIT CHIT CRAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE !! I just checked the old crank in some pics i took and it did have a keyway but no key, so i'm investigating it. I still need help because i thougth it should not have one, not sure if its the original engine now ??

I checked my 94 Z28 and I have the key way channel but no key. It should be fine and probably is your crank, they just put a key in it by mistake. You need the key for the crank timing gear but not the balancer. So if the key is in the crank but at the end of the channel you can remove it. Are your timing chain and gears installed? I scared myself the same way the first time I took my balancer off and saw the slot with no key. I thought it fell into the oil pan or something when it wasn't there to start with. Did you get your engine back with the timing cover installed?

Got an answer today on the crank, looks like they stamped it on the front end and installed a key ( all engines they rebuild ). The timing gear has a key that is cut-back to allow hub to set flush on gear. I was confused about the key and steel stamp on the end and thought they installed the wrong crank. I called them and Grooms explained it. Everything is OK.
