Default heating

ok i have a 94 camaro z28 lt1 and my temperature gauge is reading hot but i have a snap on scanner and it reading that the temp is normal fans come on when suppose to i have no codes i have replaced the temp sending unit i just dont know what to do about this problem please help thanks


also i just did a head job on this car it busted a hose and warped the head this is why i dont understand the gauge acting like it is

The temp sending unit for the gage or the gage is probably bad. Make sure you replace the gage temp sender and not the ECT. The ECT is used by the PCM to read coolant temp.

i replaced the temp sending unit thats the one on the side of the head right but anyway i replaced it before the head job with one from oreilly's and it didnt make the gauge work so i got a ac delco temp sending unit and the gauge started working then we did the head job and the gauge was reading differently so replaced the sending unit with one from oreilly's again and the gauge still didnt work i dont understand how when i replaced the temp sending unit one time the gauge started workin but now it wont maybe i need to get another ac delco temp sending unit thanks for the help and tell me what you think about this
