Default heating up

Ok so the other night I was driving around town for around an hour and a half. Traffic was horrible and I was sitting in it for a long time. After about an hour my girlfriend pointed out to me thatthe passanger side of the center console and the left side of the floor by her feet was really warm. I felt it and was suprised at how hot it really was. It was weird because it was only on the passanger side of the car, the drivers side felt normal. Is this common in the camaro's? Anyone have the same thing happen to them? FYI It's a manual if that helps.

Yeah i was suprised as hell. I thought she was being stupid and complaining and it was actually really warm. I didn't think anything was wrong but I didn't know it heats up.. maybe because i never ride in the passanger seat. The heat shield shield should be there. I mean the people I bought it from never had any major work done and it's completely stock. Mabe sititng traffic for so long let it heat up faster than normal?
