My 1997 Z28 overheats because the cooling fans wont come on. I read in another thread to disconect the cooling sensor and cross the wires and that would make the fans come on but when i did that they didnt come on. Every time i disconected the plug from the sensor the fan came on after a 5 to 10 second delay. I went and bought a new sensor and installed it but again the fan will not come on unless i disconect the sensor. my temp goes to 238 and the coolant is boiling inside. Could this be a ground issue? I also have my security light, airbag light, abs light, ars light and i have a code for the o2 sensor bank2 sensor2 but when i check the sensor with the scanner it shows it working but the code states no activity. Could all of this be tied together? Do they all share a common ground? also i once got a code for the MIL circuit. Thank You.

 

For the fan issue check the relays. They are easy to replace and can save a lot of pain. But yes you could have a bigger issue going on.

 

They are coming on now, i think it was moisture on the wires. Thanks for your reply.
