Default Car has spark but will not start

I have a 1996 camaro z28 will not start. Put a brand new gm opti. It has spark at the coil and to the plugs. When i took one of the spark plugs out it is wet with gas. So i think the fuel pump is working. Could the timing be off? It will fire once or twice. Please help

The opti times the engine off the cam. When you changed the opti did you make sure to put that little spacer/adapter piece back on the cam button to drive the opti?

I would hook up a mechanical fuel gauge up to the schrader valve on your fuel rail and make sure you are getting fuel.

Hello, you may have spark and fuel but you may want to try and check to see if your injectors have "pulse" from your computer. This is easy to check with the engine cranking and the injector connector off. Use a test light or "noid light" accross the injector connector terminals and the light should blink as the injector is told to open. If you have no flash or the light is on constant then you need to look deeper into that system. There may be a communication issue between your opti and computer? Good luck

If you have spark chances are it lacks something else. the only other two things an engine needs is fuel and air. Stick a pressure guage on the fuel rail and turn the key on and see what happens. If fuel is pressure is good it's probably something electronic

again did it run before u put the opti in? u need a scan tool to get the codes urself. it could save u some coin. just the tow cost would cover the expence of a scanner. also it helps to get away from replacing good parts. sounds like u may have a problem in the injector system. too much fuel. that can be caused by a few things. fuel pressure regulator, ecm, stuck injectors, wiring short.
