Can you put an earlier year lt1 in a 95 camaro?
Im looking to buy this 95 camaro but the original lt1 isnt in the car. The owner of it now doesnt know anything about it besides it has around 60,000 miles on it. I wanted to know if it couldve came out of a truck or an earlier camaro. I wasnt sure because 94 and below f-bodys wire harness didnt have the plugs for the vented opti spark that was in the 95. So could anyone help me out there?
And i was also wondering if the lt1's came with 275hp in the camaros, if it was pulled from a different car, like a chevy truck or caprice ect.. would it have less hp?
Thanks

Trucks never got the LT1. Y bodies (Corvettes), F bodies (Camaro & Firebird), B bodies (Roadmaster, Caprice, Impala) and D bodies (Fleetwood) all had it with the B and D bodies getting iron heads instead of aluminum.
I can't remember all the year to year differences, but I think any from 92-95 will work. Why not find one from a '95 to make it easier on yourself or does it come with a engine?
Also, 93-95 Camaros were all 275 hp. 96-97 were 285 hp. Iron head cars were 260 hp.

any lt1 will work, 92-97, the 96-97 have a crank sensor that would not effect the 95 computer. non vented opti is pretty much the only difference between 94 and 95. check the block numbers, that will tell what it came outa. see if this helps http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-ca...fourth-gen.asp heres more https://camaroforums.com/forum/lt1-l...86/#post171733 sooo,,, wheres the pictures?
