Build to beat C5 Z06

By the time you spend enough money on the Camaro to make it "like a C5 Vette", you could buy a C5 Vette. I have a C4, and used to have a 4th gen Z28. The suspension technology, and handling capabilities between the two are a night and day difference, and the C5 is way ahead of the C4. If you don't have the money for a Vette, take one for a test drive. After that you'll probably want to find a way to save up for one. Or, buy a C4, they're very affordable. As a bonus, the engine is wide open for working on it, and the front tire makes for a handy stool.

i owned an 85. It was like dding the camaro. You run into all the same problems like it wanting to over heat. They handle great though. definitely inspires confidence when pushing it to the limit. one thing i like is you got a lot of feed back from the wheel when you got close to the limit. the 85 tpi engine was a gutless wonder though. In a strait line my 95beats my buddies camed 85 tpi with ease. if your gona get one go for an lt1.

The later C4s are one of my favorite Corvette bodies. I plan on owning one some day. I have driven a few and there is a big difference between the early C4s and the later (after 87) C4s when GM made some changes to the chassis to improve body flex and handling. The C5 is even better yet! That car really handles and it has plenty of LS1 power to boot. I cant say anything about the C6 cars I have only been able to sit in one.

It ran like crap because of a bad optispark, but that was it. This is my daily summer driver, and no they don't suck at all, they're fun to drive. And yes, they handle noticeably better than the Camaro.
Try working on the Camaro LT1 this way...

Camaro69 - What year is the silver 'Vette in your garage?
I have been looking for a later C4 for over a year, and the closest I've found was an '89 and they wanted about $9500 for it. Just a bit much for the overall condition, so I passed.

Yeah, that's too much for an 89. Some of these Vette nuts think they're sitting on gold!
The one in the garage is a 69. I've had it for at least 13 years, and it's been sitting wearing new paint for the last 8. Life "stuff" keeps getting in my way keeping me from finishing the restoration.

i though all c4s had the same frame chassy set up.
I dont know camaro 69 i think i rather work on the camaro then the vett. they jamed so much crap on the sides of the motor it isnt funny. i used to hate pulling out the battery when it went dead. Ill never forget when the hood release cable broke as well.
my vett was cursed. Something broke on that car ever single week. i told the guy i sold it to about it but he was just so happy to get a vett for 3g. I see him every once and a while and he always has a list of crap he replaces on it.
