Default Body Control Module replacement

I have a 1996 z28 and am having issues with no power when I open the door in weather under about 45 degrees but can start the car by applying heat to the glove box area. I feel I am having issues with my body control module but as I went in to see if this is something I could replace on my own I noticed BIG warning about setting off the passenger side airbag.
Any advice on this? Should I proceed or just take it to a dealer?

Thank You
BGribben

You can remove the BCM without touching the air bags. It is located behind the glove box on the passenger's side and it appears you have the relay issue. Check the BCM rapair thread on the main 4th gen page sticky list. It tells you how to fix what is messed up.
