Default Brake light on

Hello, im back again, i replaced the engine in my car, got all the wires connected and today i took it to get my emissons test, service engine light is on, low oil light is on (broken sensor), and the brake light is on, i was told they could not test the car because of the break light being on. So i drove back how and tried disconncection the parking brake switch and the light still on. any suggestions? It is a 97, LT-1 with a 6 speed, thanks.

are we talking the abs light or the brake light? the brake light will come on if you lose fluid in the system. check all four wheels for leakage at the calipers. also did you bleed or have any brake work done recently? did the light just come on when you changed the motor? how did you change it, bottom or top. if you took it out the bottom you had to unhook the brake lines so if you didnt bleed them you may have some air in there. if you did bleed them then you may have set off the sensor. to reset the sensor you push on the brakes really hard.

checked the break fluid it was low, filled it, gave a quick look at cables and lines everything seemed ok (but it was kinda dark so i shall check the again in the morning, pushed the break pedal hard to maybe reset the sensor , pushed it with the key out of the ignition then with key turned to ACC. and the with the engine running and the light was still on. I have pulled the gauge cluster to replace it with blue gauge cluster, could that have anything to do with the light staying on?

yah check to see if you can find where that brake fluid went. if if your losing fluid im thinking the sensor will not reset. makes sense anyways. lol.

Fyi, the testing station will not check your car if the check engine light is on either, as you say yours is.
SES light usually means something with the engine isn't right, which automatically creates an emissions issue.
