bad gas mileage after replacing almost everything

Default bad gas mileage after replacing almost everything

ok as you guys know from my post i have replaced the opti and all plugs and wires and gapped the plugs to the right specs, im only getting 14 or 15 in town, this normal? last summer i was gettin 16 or 17, im not driving the wheels off it its my daily driver im doin the same drivin now that i did last summer when i was gettin better mileage the only thing i have not replaced is the coil, any ideas anyone

Lazy O2 sesnsors come to mind. Get a scanner and look at the O2 sensors, the voltage should be cycling up & down at quick pace. Also check air cleaner and exhaust system, dragging brakes, low tire pressure, heavy shoes.

Z28pete you the man plugged my comp into the.car. bank1 sensor 1 is new and the voltage bounced all over the place. Bank 1 sensor 2 passenger side is stuck around .8xx. Thanks man good tip!

worst i have gotten is 21mpg and the car runs rich. first 93 z28 got 27+mpg. if u havent found the problem test the evap murderd

Yeah, but murderd was talking about around town driving. A car will generally get worse gas mileage in the winter, if you live in a cold weather climate. One reason is because of letting the engine idle more to warm up. Another is some areas have a "winter blend" gas that has more ethanol, which also gives you worse gas mileage.

The ethanol that is being put into the gas, both summer and winter blends, is gonna cause a decrease in mileage. I've seen some reports that 10% ethanol can cause a 10% drop in mileage.

so u think tokeland is a small place out in the middle of nowhere? lol. summer whats that?

You mean Tokeland is a real place? I thought that was an altered state of mind you sometimes get yourself in...
