ok.... i'm trying to change my spark plug wires but i saw that teres like a 7.5 mm n 8.5 mm but i dont which ones to get because i dont know whats the diff between them, other that size.... n also... my check engine turns on n when the car is in idle it should be like at 700 rpms.... but sometimes it goes up to 1000, 1500, n even 2000 rpms, on idle, parked.... n sometimes it'll stay there n go back to normal if i turn it off n on again, or sometimes it just keeps movinh from 800 to 1400 by itself... like sum1 is hitting the gas.... anyone??? help???

forgot to tell you. go get the codes checked at checker or auto zone or a repair shop the stores are free though. i just bought a code reader at wally world for a hundred but tis handy then type the code in the yahoo search and you can figure it from there

You can use either size wire as long as they fit. If the insulation material is the same, the thicker wire will carry more voltage, but if the insulation is different, there is no telling by just looking at the wires. While you are changing the wires change the plugs also. New wires don't help if the plugs are bad.
For the crazy idle, look for sticking throttle linkage and throttle valves, check the idle control valve on the throttle body. Get the car scanned & see what the trouble lite is complaining about, and get the car running right. Your car has an OBDI computer and most part stores that do free scans can only do OBDII, so you may have to pay.
