Spark Plug Wire #7

Spark Plug Wire #7
I'm changing my spark plugs and wires and already got stuck on the easier of the two engine sides. The spark plug wire that goes to cylinder #7 (driver's side rear) is routed through a metal tunnel thing. I can't see well enough to tell what I have to do to free the plug wire. I already removed the wire from the spark plug, but can't move it anywhere because of the metal thing (Please see attached image). How do I free the wire?
If I'm having trouble on the driver's side, I can't wait to see how hard of a time I'll have on the passenger side. I removed the alternator and I think I can reach at least three of the passenger-side plugs from the top. I can see the rear three passenger plugs from the bottom, but haven't tried to reach them from there.

I read that the heat shield thing I was talking about is bolted to the head and is difficult to get to. If I run out of patience, I will cut the wire and re-route the new one.
"The wire to #7 is under a metal shield, that is bolted to the head. It is possible to access and remove the bolt that holds the shield down, but it takes immense patience, and very flexible appendages. I suspect most people just rip that shield off. "

there is an opening on mine against the engine on top. once i got the wire sliding along that opening i got it to come out. put the new one in the same way only backwards. fed some wire though so i would have something to pull and push with. then got it started in the hole and slid it though.

the back bolt hole on mine on the driver side has a slot so u can slide it up and off without taking the bolt all the way out. i dont know if it will hit the stock exhaust cause its not on the motor anymore.

Someone must have taken mine off because I've change plugs twice on mine and never saw that. I know I had to get #7 from the bottom. I changed my wires one time and it was because that wire was burned in to. So, thats why it was probably burned. I zip tied it away from the exhaust and engine and havent had no problems. It takes me about 45 minutes now to do the plugs. If you get a gear rachet socket set it helps A LOT! the sockets and rachet have a hole all the way through the so it goes all the way on the plug but the back of the rachet doesnt stick out in your way and each socket is small but like a deepwell. If you dont have a set go to advance and get one. Well worth it.

Thanks for the responses. I got the plug wire out by sliding the plastic heat shield off and lifting the wire out the top of the metal heat shield. There was just enough room to do so. After I saw where one of the tiny bolts were, I decided to try sliding it out first.

When I change my plugs, I dont take anything off. Just jack it up and get some from the top and some from the bottom. That ratchet set helps a lot too. It also makes changing plugs on my truck with headers a lot easier.
