93 Camaro died and sometimes has spark
Hello everyone, I am having some trouble with me 1993 camaro z28 LT1 motor. I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden the car died. I waited for the car to cool and it fired up, only to die again 15 seconds later. I checked the spark and it didnt have any spark. I allowed the car to sit for 2-3 days and it cranked up. I dont know to start driving becuase Im not sure if the problem will happen again.
I put an OBDII senor on it and 36 and 46 were the codes that it popped out. On the internet it shows that 36 and 46 deals with the distributor ignition system and VATS fault. Im not sure if any parts need replacement or not.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Since you found codes I'll start with what happened to me
My car died on the interstate out of the blue same as you
I had an aftermarket car alarm that was tied into my vats which to say the least fubar as of now I have no vats issues cause I have a loose ignition so if I wiggle key contact my security light stays off
Now when I tested my ignition via shbox.com helped me test all my ignition components
Well my stupid bolts holding my icm were stripped so I found some smaller nuts to squeeze behind bracket tightened everything down and car fired up
Mind ya car was dead in the water and everything I tried did nothing until I replaced icm and fixed the stripped screws
Now being you got a code and I didn't all of this probably won't help cause if I recall that code is for opti so something most likely failed in your opti spark

36 would point to the opti failing. 46 is a vats code. try cleaning the key and spray some electrical cleaner in the key hole. you can bypass the vats if needed. number 24, 25, 26. 4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech Aids
