Default 1994 camaro z28 lt1

i need some help and advice i just got a a 94 lt1 i want to sup it up but should i get the motor rebuilt or just start with it like it is it has 169231 miles on it, its a automatic and has a tci racing transmission in it and what upgrades should be good, i might get a twin turbo or supercharger . i dont want anything to do with nos. i just want as much hp on motor alone but not to much to were im always at a gas pump at least 500 or more should be good to eat up the local honda's and mustangs.

Well, first things first supercharging or throwing a turbo on pretty much any engine with that many miles is a horrible idea so id say rebuild. Also if you want to stay away from NOS why not tryanother company like Zex unless you were referring to thenitrous itself as nos in which case this isnt the fast and the furious.

Check out the sticky at the top of the 4th Gen section about "How to start modding your car" and that will take up a decent amount of your money.

I agree with Spartan, you don't really want to run forced induction on a motor with that many miles. If you're seriously going for a forced induction route you need to plan it from the beginning (what type of super charger/turbo, SC/Turbo cam, fuel pump, injectors, etc. etc.) and all that is going to start with a rebuild of the bottom end with fully forged internals. If you have the money, go for it, but to do a FI build right it's not cheap.

Well if it was well maintained id say it would give them one hell of a run for their money. I was able to beat a S197 GT vert that i think might have been an auto.

eh... um...... *sigh* [&o]

I typically find that anyone with the actual means by which to go FI with a car like this doesnt need to ask this question.start with the basics. get some boltons. do plenty of reading.

^^^agreed there

however, spartan hit the nail on the head. if you can be without a car for a while while the motor is out and getting machined, i'd rebuild it for what you want to do. you do realize that by supercharging it or twin turboing liek you're saying, that you're going to have probably twice as much just in the motor than what you paid for the car assuming you do everything right

Yeah, unless you are planning on having this car till your 70 or your over the age of 25 and dont go thru cars like most teenagers and young adults might i would reconsider a charger. Its expensive and if you want it all id honestly have it covered by insurance if at all possible because your lookin to throw away some cash-ola before you even get to charging it and then youve got to worry about something wearing out faster than usual.
