New to C.F. Best car ever HAD! I have a 1994 z-28 with 3000 stall, shift kit, 10 months ago rebuilt. During normal driving up to 3/4 throttle it's fine; but when i floor it, it lets loose and just revs up and if I back off it will catch a gear at take off like a bat out of hell. Also I was shifting manually to see if it was working the second gear does nothing until i give throttle than it catches.
Don't know if it's a second gear servo, sprag, line pressure, or time for another rebuild!

 

That is a common problem when using high stall speed converters. There is a fix for it, but I can't remember what was done. I'll post it as soon as I find it again.

 

thanks i'll appreciate it if you could find it again. i searched through 28 or so pages in this lt1 archive and found nothing. maybe looking in wrong place. lots of useful info. though. decided to get my computer programmed by pcm for less off of this forum! more horsepower please !

The fix that was mentioned was to make sure the shifter cable is set up correctly, and use the stronger solenoids fron a Corvette transmission.
