Default Upgrade speaker system in a 1998 z28

Hey...... so i am really confused on what i need to do with my car. I have a 98 Z28 with the monsoon stereo system. I took out the stock head unit and installed a pioneer. I just bought some 6.5 Alpine type R's components for the front door speakers. I know that i need a new amp and i don't know what to put in the sail panels and the rear hatch. Also how am i supposed to wire these because i read in a service manual that the Delko speaker are not grounded. The wiring has me messed up, do i have to re wire my sound system or something????? really confused somebody help me out....... thanks

your factory amp in the car is in the right rear compartment behind the spare tire. i would strongly recommend an after market amp for the typeR's. you can get all of your speaker wiring from the stock amp or run new up to you. if you need the wiring info from the stock amp i can get it for you, the only things you'll need to run from the head unit to the after market amp would be RCA's i hope you have at least two pair for front and rear. and a remote turn on wire that should be blue/white stripe. and i would also recommend you run the rca's down the driver side and your power on the pass side cuz you bat is on the pass side and there is a great grommet on the pass side behind the ECU at the firewall. and when it comes to the rear speakers you basiclly won't need them those 4 typeR's should be enough.

also if you are just currently running the typeR's on the stock amp the middle set of speakers in the side panels near the back seat are only gonna get low's and mids, no highs those speakers are factory 6.5" subs.

the factory audio wiring at the stock amp is as follows FL+dark blue,FL-Light blue,FR+orange,FR-Dark green,RL+Dark blue/white,RL- Light Green/black,RR+ Dark Green, RR- Light blue/black, tweeter FL+Black, TFL- Yellow, TFR+ light green, TFR-Violet, TRL+tan, TRL- white, TRR+tan, TRR-red. all those are the audio outputs from the stock amp going to the stock speakers.

I bought two Type r components for the door panels, mounted the tweeters next to the woofer. There was a place to already kinda mount it so i put them there. I put type r coaxials in the sail panels or the middle and kept the stock hatch 4 inch speakers for now. I used all the factory wiring to the stock amp and the amp that is powering the speakers is a 1600 watt power acustic BAMF series. I found a diagram online that helped a ton. They speakers sound amazing just got to tune them. Maybe get a single sub in the left side trunk area. Thanks a bunch. Maybe i will upload some photos of my car sometime when i wash and wax it.

I replaced the factory amp with a rockford power series 1000w 4-channel, used infinity components in the doors, side panels, and hatch, and also installed a pioneer double din head unit..the amp is powering all components including the 2 12'' rockford P2 subs i installed as well including all new wiring

that double din dash kit is kinda overpriced i would rather mod the factory dash and if i needed to buy a replacement one if i wanted to put back to stock for some reason.
