Default Stock suspension question(s)

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum, and I'm here because I am hearing what I will say sounds like a "bottoming out" or "slight grinding" sound from the drivers side front, it happens on larger bumps or on a dirt road <--my street is under construction, i don't go off roading with my Z. I have an appointment at the dealership in a few days, and I just want to be armed with a little knowledge as to what it may or may not be, and I don't want the tech a the dealership to be like, "Oh its this, this, and that and oh yeah this is shot too". I am planning on having a friend do the work, but he has asked me to find the issue before he starts ripping things apart.

I read in another post where someone heard a similar sound but coming from the rear, a mod suggested a crack transmission mount which turned out to be it, now, in that post, the poster also said he was experiencing some rough shifts as well, I too, am having that problem ever since this "sound" issue started 2 weeks ago.

You guys rock, and I am happy to be a member of the forum!!

could be brakes or wheel bearing. are u noticing the steering wheel pulling to the driver side? jack up that side and spin the wheel and listen for any grinding and feel if it turns smoothly.

I will give that a try, I don't notice a lot of pulling to the drivers side, but yes it does pull sometimes. I really hope its nothing major!!!!

stableizer or control arm bushings could be worn and in need of replacing as well. so it does it going slow but not when going a little better pace?

I think your shock may have come loose from the mount (maybe rust or a pothole) -- same thing happened on my RS, now I need a new passenger side strut mount, and I think the nut up-top rusted (won't know until I do the removal).
